Fuels Involved

Tall grass (2.5 feet)

Significant Events

Minimal, Creeping, Smoldering. Minimal fire activity due to increased RH.

Current Weather
Weather Concerns

High pressure centered over the Four Corners states supported hot and dry weather today along with monsoon showers and thunderstorms which developed mainly south and west of Phoenix. Isolated showers and thunderstorms also developed over the Mogollon Rim. Only the strongest cells and outflows threatened the incident area with strong wind gusts, cloud-to-ground lightning, small hail, and heavy rainfall. Temperatures today warmed to around five degrees above normal. Winds outside of storm outflows were again more southerly today on the ridge tops and up valley/upslope during the afternoon with gusts less than 20 mph in the afternoon and evening. Relative humidities dipped into the 20s percent at lower elevations and closer to 30 percent toward higher elevations. Humidity recoveries tonight will be fair except in areas where rainfall occurs. Temperatures remain above normal Sunday into next week along with low relative humidities. Low chances for afternoon and evening monsoon thunderstorms Sunday and Monday will lower on Tuesday into much of the second half of next week as drier air shifts over Arizona.
