On July 13, 2024, a lightning storm ignited multiple fires on the Sequoia National Forest;
The Trout Fire is northeast of Isabella Lake in the Dome Land Wilderness south of Sherman Pass Road and southwest of Bald Mountain (Tulare County).
The Long Fire is northeast of Isabella Lake in the Dome Land Wilderness southwest of the Rockhouse Meadow (Tulare County).

Trout Fire: 12 hours: Interior islands will continue to consume. Incremental spread to the south is possible from short range spotting. Sparse fuels mitigate significant growth to the east. | Weather Concerns | Temperatures across the fire today were around 3-5 degrees cooler along with slightly higher RHs in the 17 27% range. NW winds along the ridge-tops remained elevated until 0600, with gusts upwards of 26 mph while elsewhere terrain-driven winds prevailed. Skies remained clear, with some passing high clouds in the late afternoon. For tonight, ridge winds will remain elevated through around 0800, with sustained NW winds of 15-25/gusts to 35-40 mph. Winds in the valleys and drainages remain W 10-15 mph/gusts to 25 mph. Minimum temperatures across the fire will vary from the mid 40s to mid 50s, with RHs between 35 to 65%. |
