The Bureau of Land Management Bakersfield Field Office is issuing an emergency closure of the Case Mountain Extensive Recreation Management Area, including the Kaweah Area of Critical Environmental Concern and the Milk Ranch Peak Wilderness Study Area, near the town of Three Rivers in Tulare County.

An updated closure order has been issued for Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, adding Cedar Grove and Grant Grove to previous closures. All visitor services and attractions for all of Sequoia and Kings Canyon are now closed.
Giant Forest and Lodgepole Area Closures

Lodgepole Campground, Wuksachi Lodge, and the Giant Forest/Lodgepole area will close this evening at 7pm. There will be no access to the General Sherman Tree for the duration of this closure. The Quail Flat gate will be locked at 7pm. The road between Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks will be closed. All visitors are expected to leave via Highway 180.
Due to wildfire activity, the highway between the Sequoia entrance and Giant Forest is closed to both uphill and downhill traffic effective September 11, 2021. The Kings Canyon entrance from Highway 180 remains open and provides access to the Giant Forest in Sequoia National Park.
