Wells fire started on March 17, 2022, 3 miles east of the town of Holliday. Multiple local fire departments responded to assist, along with State resources from Texas A&M Forest Service (TAMFS). One home and 3 outbuildings immediately threatened local responders assigned to structure protection. No evacuations at this time. TAMFS dozers constructing control lines. TAMFS and Bowman Volunteer Fire Department are working in unified command.
The fires burned extremely actively due to high winds. Responders were faced with low visibility and heavy brush.
