An Air Resources Advisor from the Wildland Fire Air Quality Response Program has been added to the River Complex Fire.  Smoke Outlook Forecasts will be available daily at https://wildlandfiresmoke.net/outlooks/NorthernCalifornia.

Fire behavior overnight on the River Complex was active with a significant increase in growth on the two largest fires. The Haypress Fire grew by approximately 1,978 acres for total acreage of 13,500. The Summer Fire grew approximately 1,881 acres from the previous day for total acreage of 6,611. The Cronan Fire is currently 662 acres. Total acreage for the complex is 20,783 acres with 3% containment.
Fire behavior overnight on the River Complex was active with a significant increase in growth on the Summer and Haypress Fires. The Summer Fire grew approximately 2,018 acres from the previous day while the Haypress Fire grew by approximately 3,034 acres. Today’s weather is forecast to bring cooler temperatures with increased winds from the Northwest by this afternoon. Critical fire weather is expected to continue until conditions stabilize Friday and into the weekend. Smoke will continue to persist at the lower elevations.
Effective at 6:00 pm on August 3, 2021, the California Interagency Incident Management Team CIIMT 14 took command of the River Complex located on the Klamath National Forest. The complex consists of approximately 22 fires. Of these, 6 fires have been contained and are in patrol status. Of the active fires, most are ½ to 20 acres. The largest fires are Haypress at 5,500 acres, Cronan at 450 acres and Summer at 2,500 acres for a total of 8,487 acres.
Fire behavior moderated today on the River Complex due to a smoke inversion over most of the area.  
Yesterday’s dry weather caused some fires in the River Complex to grow significantly. Evacuation orders are in place for the town of Cecilville, all residents along Caribou Road, all residents along Taylor Creek Road and surrounding areas due to the River Complex. Please leave these areas immediately.
An evacuation order has been issued for Taylor Creek Road and surrounding areas by the Siskiyou County Sheriff's Office.  Please leave the area immediately.  An evacuation warning has been issued by the Siskiyou County Sheriff's Office for Forks of Salmon and Sawyers Bar areas.
