Lolo Fire containment increases to 60% 07-13-2024

QUEMADO, NM, July 13, 2024 – The Lolo Fire is at 438 acres with 60% containment. The primary fire activity is concentrated on the northwest side where crews have been constructing hand line and will continue to scout and assess additional roads for future control lines. The southern perimeter is under patrol and monitor status as that section of the fire has shown minimal fire activity.
Containment increases to 39 percent on the Lolo Fire 07-11-2024

QUEMADO, NM, July 11, 2024 – The Lolo Fire is 412 acres with 39% containment along the southern perimeter. Tasks for this area will include patrols and maintaining control features where crews have completed mop-up work which included mitigating hazards and hotspots along the fire boundary. Primary source of fire activity will be on the north and east side as fire continues to back down to areas accessible for firefighters to engage it.
Lolo Fire Transitions to a Type 3 Incident Management Team 07-09-2024

QUEMADO, NM, July 9, 2024 – The Lolo Fire transitioned to a type 3 incident management team on Monday and is estimated at 378 acres in the Quemado Ranger District. The fire is located between Escondido Mountain and the Continental Divide Trail, roughly 6 miles northeast of Quemado Lake. “Currently, there are no area closures in place for the fire,” said Quemado District Ranger Randall Chavez. “But for the safety of the public and crews, we would appreciate it if they would avoid the immediate area for firefighting efforts.”
