Crews are back on scene this morning of the 3 Oaks Fire patrolling and improving lines installed yesterday. Dozers will be working to improve and create access along existing dozer lines and  the North East corner where vehicles can not access the fire. The TIFMAS engine strike team will be patrolling the containment line, along with any local resources, and hiking through Bennett Creek checking the fire where it stopped along that creek. Weather conditions today are conducive for fires to occur so a dozer and other resources will be available to respond to other fires from this one.
Today crews made good progress mopping up all containment lines and internal heats. Dozers progressed around the majority of the fire building containment lines, and TIFMAS engines worked to remove heat along these lines and Bennet Creek. A wide variety of local resources assisted today with line construction and greatly sped up this process. Looking forward, crews are off the line and getting some rest tonight before returning in the morning. Tomorrow crews will patrol and monitor the lines and continue to extinguish heat that is found along the containment lines.
Crews are back on scene again today working to build containment around this fire. Weather conditions today have improved compared to yesterday but still remain challenging for firefighters. Good progress was made last night using heavy equipment to create a containment line partially around the fire. Crews today are finishing tying lines in to increase containment and mopping up heavy fuels burning inside the lines. Additionally some resources are available to respond to other new fires that may occur in the area.
The 3 Oaks fire grew quickly in the high winds today and jumped FM road 1047. This initial push grew six miles long before a wind shift occurred and pushed the fire to the South towards FM 572. All resources at this time are engaged in structure protection and working to gain containment as the winds die off this evening. Multiple local fire departments have been supporting this incidence along with Texas A&M Forest Service and Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System. Several drops by aerial resources helped to lower fire activity for ground resources to begin work.
