CURRENT SITUATION:

Fire Crews are taking advantage of current weather and fire conditions and continue to go direct in many areas where fire is in a backing alignment. Where there is containment line on the fire, crews are back hauling equipment while searching for and addressing hot spots as they present themselves. Visible smoke and fire activity will continue to be visible over the next few days due to warmer, drier conditions. The Cronan Fire remains inactive with no signs of detectable heat and firefighters continue to patrol and back haul equipment. The Sugar Hill area continues to have crews in place reinforcing containment lines in the rocky, steep terrain with personnel engaged in up and down slope line construction. Cecilville and Summerville areas remain the same with visible heat well within the containment lines. The personnel in Little Mill Creek area continue handline construction and mop-up. The Tangle Blue Spot fire has active fire with ground crews constructing handline with the support of aircraft and helicopters. There were two new small spot fires observed that were less than an acre in size north of the Tangle Blue. Helicopters were utilized to help work these two spot fires with water drops. Air support is being utilized with tanker drops to cool areas of heat in the Eagle Creek/Minnehaha area. Crews address areas of heat in the Coffee Creek area. Due to the rocky terrain in that area, there are no concerns for fire spread at this time.
