Fire activity on the River Complex has increased today with the arrival of a drier airmass.

Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office has issued an evacuation ORDER for Taylor Creek Road and surrounding areas due to fire. Please leave the area immediately. This is not a warning, this is an ORDER.

There is in an evacuation warning in place for the Forks of Salmon and Sawyers Bar areas due to the multiple fires in the Klamath National Forest. This is a WARNING only at this time. Be alert and be ready to go in case an order is issued.

Currently there are approximately 13 active fires within the Complex. Firefighting resources are prioritizing their efforts where there are values at risk.

Fires of note:

  • • Haypress is estimated at 600 ac with active fire behavior
  • • Summer Fire is approximately 75 ac
  • • Cronan Fire 165 ac
  • • Packers is roughly 50, staffed with Smokejumpers

A type 2 incident management team is inbriefing tomorrow morning to take over the incident.
