Firefighters spent the day validating handlines and widening those needing additional work. Hose lays are also in place all around the perimeter of the fire. Crews began mopping up today, cooling hot spots and smoldering areas within 200 feet of the containment lines. In addition, suppression repair started today.
The steep terrain within the Tuolumne River Canyon continues to be the most difficult challenge for firefighters.
Fire behavior continues to be low to moderate, with a slow rate of spread. The weather was hot and dry again today, but is expected to cool tomorrow. Winds were generally light throughout the day, gusting to 14 mph in the late afternoon.
All Evacuation Warnings were lifted at 1800 today.
