At the end of their shift, these task forces were released from the 1148 fire.

Fire operations are on the ground today making final evaluations on the final containment.

Fire Weather:

Continued weather will be mostly sunny and hot, with dry conditions throughout the day.  Temperatures are expected to reach 102 degrees, with humidity as low as 20%.  The chance of wetting rain is 0%. Afternoon winds will 8-11 mph out of the south and later from the southeast with gusts up to 17 mph. As reminder, if thunderstorms develop in north Texas, they could generate outflow winds in the afternoon that could cause brief wind shifts and gusts. These storms do not need to be over a fire to cause significant shifts in weather patterns.

Closures/Evacuations: There are currently no evacuation orders in place.

Safety and Notifications:

Personal responsibility and

prevention of the next ignition is

of utmost importance in preventing the next wildfire. Refrain from parking vehicles on dry grass and make sure all power equipment is in good working condition. Do your part to help our firefighters.

Wildfires are a NO DRONE ZONE. If you fly, we can’t. Flying a drone near a wildfire can shut down all air operations.
