State resources from Texas A&M Forest Service (TAMFS) and Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS) responded to a request for assistance on the 1148 Fire at Possum Kingdom Lake in Palo Pinto County today. Burning in timber, brush and tall grass, the fire exhibited extreme fire behavior such as crowning, running and flammable materials spotting ahead of the active fire.
