Current Status: State and local resources observed minimal fire activity in the overnight hours as they continued establishing control lines and monitoring fire activity. Crews will continue to work throughout the day and night to achieve complete containment of the fire.

Planned Actions: As of this morning, there are a total of 69 state and federal personnel assigned, including 7 bulldozers, 22 fire engines and 2 aircraft supporting the incident. Texas A&M Forest Service is working in conjunction with Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS), and local fire departments from within Kleberg County and nearby mutual aid. With abundant resources on scene today, and significantly lower fire activity present, crews will use heavy equipment to complete containment lines around the fire.

Weather & Fuel Conditions:
Winds this morning will be light and variable out of the northeast, then shifting to a southeast wind this afternoon with speeds between 15 to 20 mph. Relative humidity values this morning are approximately 51% and are expected to decrease to around 40% by 4 PM. Tonight, relative humidity levels are predicted to increase to 100%, further reducing fire activity.  

Resources Threatened:
There are currently no resources threatened.
 

Closures:
Voluntary evacuations have been lifted in Kleberg County for the Ricardo and Riviera communities, as well as the King Ranch Gas Plant.
