Bosque River Fire Update March 30, 2022 5:30pm

Size: 700 acres
Containment: 90%
Personnel: 19

Texas A&M Forest Service (TAFMS) received a request for assistance in Bosque County on the Bosque River Fire, approximately 3 miles east of Iredel, Texas, on the evening on March 27, 2022 during warm, dry and windy conditions. Critically dry grass and shrub vegetation supported the growth of the fire with some spotting of flammable materials ahead of the flaming front, far enough ahead to jump the Bosque River.

Yesterday, Forest Service personnel were assisted by local volunteer fire departments to gain more containment around the fire. There was minimal fire activity around the perimeter of the fire. Forest Service personnel were released from the incident in the evening and released the fire back to the local units.

Today, local fire department crews continued patrolling the containment line to monitor for any further activity around the perimeter. There was no significant changes to the status of the fire and the containment lines successfully held throughout the day. This update will be the last pending any significant changes in the activity of the fire, the local resources have assumed command of this incident.

Weather:Windy and warm conditions were experienced around the fire with an increase in low level moisture. A line of showers and thunderstorms moved through Central Texas last night. The cumulative rainfall was not significant enough to decrease fire danger in the area. Minimum humidity dropped to around 45% with south winds around 20-25 mph. Wind gusts exceeded 35 mph at times. Brisk west-northwest winds can be expected tomorrow with humidity around 30%.
