Overnight, crews on the Buddy Fire bumped containment to 70% after using favorable weather conditions to conduct a burnout operation and build and strengthen containment line. 2 dozer crews and one engine from TAMFS Fredericksburg Task Force, and 2 dozer crews from TAMFS Smithville Task Force are assisting. No closures or evacuations are currently in place.
On Sunday, initial attack crews requested aviation resources staged in Fredericksburg, Smithville, and Abilene. 2 large air-tankers, one type 3 helicopter, and an air attack plane were requested, as well as a TIFMAS engine strike team.
As of 03/14/2022 at 10:00am 1 non-residential minor structure is reported lost and 4 structures remain threatened. Crews will continue to hold and improve existing containment lines on Monday. Elevated fire weather is forecasted for Monday afternoon in the fire area. Wind gusts of 35 mph and relative humidity of 28% are forecasted.
