Crittenburg Complex Fire Update March 30, 2022 2:00 pm

Size: Estimated 33,175 acres
Containment: 80%
Personnel: 20

Texas A&M Forest Service personnel were requested by Fort Hood officials to the Crittenberg Complex Fire in Coryell County on March 27, 2022 during warm, dry and windy conditions. Critically dry grass and shrub vegetation supported the growth of the fire with some spotting of flammable materials ahead of the flaming front.

Yesterday, containment on the Crittenberg Fire increased to 80%, acreage remains at 33,175. Operational tactics focused on engines patrolling completed containment lines on the private sector, as well as on the installation. Heavy equipment continued to work on constructing containment lines on the installation. Helicopters made bucket drops on remaining hot spots throughout the day.
Today, resources will continue patrolling all containment lines. Heavy equipment will continue construction of containment lines on the installation.
