The Das Goat Fire in Medina County ignited on March 25, 2022 under warm, dry and windy conditions. Critically dry grass and juniper vegetation supported ignition and growth of the fire with some spotting of flammable materials ahead of the flaming front.
Today, there was very little fire activity around the perimeter. Fire resources patrolled the containment lines and continued to mop up around the active areas. 
Weather:A red flag warning was effect for 11am to 6pm CDTCritical fire weather conditions developed late morning andcontinued through early evening. An erratic wind pattern persisted. North winds around 5 mph early morning shifted to south 5 to 10 mph with gusts to 15 mph late morning, then to west and northwest this afternoon. Humidity recovery was poor this morning maxing out at 58 percent. Humidities fell to near 20 percent this afternoon. Highs in the mid 80s and no rain was received.
Evacuations and Road Closures:No current evacuations in place. The mandatory evacuation for residents who live on County Road 2615 between County Road 265 to just south of Paradise Canyon was lifted as of March 29th. Further information can be found at Medina County Office of Emergency Management facebook page. Use the following the link to sign up for Emergency Notifications from Medina County agencies: http://r.i-info.com/rc/arc.
Damages and Injuries:The damage assessment team noted several homes that were directly saved through the actions of ground and aerial crews. The completed survey found 3 residences and 2 outbuildings lost, and 4 homes with minor damage.There has been no report of injuries at this time.
