Double Barrel Fire, April 1, 2022 7:30 pm

Size:984 acres
Containment: 100%
Cause:Powerline

Texas A&M Forest Service is working in unified command with Hoover Volunteer Fire Department on a wildfire that reignited due to high winds and spotted over containment lines. Crews successfully performed burnout operations on a pocket to increase containment. Heavy equipment has reinforced the containment lines as well. Winds were erratic and there was slight rain with thunderstorms in the area. The humidity assisted fire crews in being able to hold the current containment lines and widen out some old ones. The firefighters have patrolled and mopped up the areas of heat around the perimeter and feel comfortable calling it 100% contained as of April 1st.

The fire has been turned over to local resources to monitor and continue mopping up.
