Cause: Unknown, human caused

State resources from Texas A&M Forest Service (TAMFS) and Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS) continued work on the Electra Complex wildfire today. Crews constructed and improved control lines, patrolled, and mopped. The Electra Volunteer Fire Department responded to a rekindle in the destroyed residential structure. Fire behavior was low today due to light winds. Winds are expected to be gusty by Sunday afternoon. State resources will return tomorrow morning to continue to patrol and secure control lines.

No evacuations or closures at this time.

Damages and Injuries

At this point, no injuries from either the public or first responders have been reported. The railroad company was out early this morning inspecting damage and preparing to repair tracks which were damaged. Reports on damaged structures include one residential and one commercial structure which were destroyed, a second residential structure which was damaged, light damage to the local agricultural barn, and a destroyed outbuilding. In the early hours of response on December 10th, 2021, a TIFMAS engine was damaged.
