Hardcastle Fire
Publication Type: Announcement -

Name: Hard Castle Fire

Size: 600 acres
Containment: 50
Cause: Rekindle from previously contained fire, originally started by power lines
Structures lost: 1 confirmed
Structures threatened: 0

Additional resources continue to arrive today to aid in suppression efforts. There are many task forces of engines, hand crews, dozers, and aircraft working on the fire. Aircraft are dropping retardant around the fire, followed by dozers to reinforce these lines. Dozer lines have been tied in completely around the fire. Heavy equipment will now work on widening the existing lines. Forward progression is still stopped at this point, however fire activity is picking up in the unconsumed vegetation. Expect to see some smoke today as the temperatures rise and humidity drops.

Please stay up to date on the status of the fire from InciWeb, trusted news sources, and the Bosque County Emergency Management Facebook page. There are no evacuations at this time, but residents in the area should be prepared if the need arises.

There also continues to be a Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) in the airspace around the fire, this includes drone. More information on the TFR and be found here.
