Hardcastle Fire
Publication Type: News -

Name: Hard Castle Fire

Size: 600 acres
Containment: 60%
Cause: Rekindle from previously contained fire, originally started by power lines
Structures lost: 1 confirmed
Structures threatened: 0

All containment lines held overnight. Today crews will continue work on strengthening containment lines with heavy equipment and putting out hot spots near the fire’s edge. Interior pockets are still holding heat, so expect to see smoke today as the temperature rises and humidity drops. Aircraft and engines will address these hot spots as they appear. A wind shift is expected this afternoon out of the north, therefore the southern edge of the fire is being monitored closely.

Please stay up to date on the status of the fire from InciWeb, trusted news sources, and the Bosque County Emergency Management Facebook page. There are no evacuations at this time, but residents in the area should be prepared if the need arises.

A temporary flight restriction (TFR) remains in effect in the airspace over the fire. This TFR includes drones, so please keep the air space clear so that aircraft can continue to work.
