Cause: Powerline

Various local fire departments along with State resources from Texas A&M Forest Service (TAMFS) and Federal resources from Sheppard Air Force Base, responded to assist Iowa Park Fire Department with a wildfire that started in a Wildland Urban Interface location. There were 30 homes and 40 outline buildings threatened. Local responders direct saved 15 homes and 22 outline buildings. There were no homes loss but there was 1 abandoned outline building loss. TAMFS dozers constructed containment line around the perimeter of Key fire. Local responders mopped up and secured control lines and will continue to patrol lines overnight. TAMFS resources cleared Key fire for the night and will return tomorrow morning to patrol and make any line improvements if needed.
