Cause: Lightning

As of today, June 15, 2022, fire crews had continued to build containment lines around the fires edge with heavy equipment. Engines continued to patrol and mop up any heat that was found along the containment lines. Forward progression of the fire is stopped, but high fire activity was still observed throughout the day with internal pockets of unburned fuel burning themselves out and single tree torching. No structures were threatened by this fire and no evacuations or road closures were issued. 

For tomorrow, June 16, 2022, firefighters will return to the fire in the morning and continue to monitor and patrol. Crews will look more interior of the fire to extinguish any hot spots found.
