Mill Creek Fire Update

State resources from Texas A&M Forest Service (TAMFS) continued to work the Mill Creek Fire throughout the day. Working with local responders TAMFS dozers constructed line around the fire completing containment. Privat motor graders from a local ranch had assisted as well along with, multiple VFDs. Due to the high winds the fire is showed significant activity on both flanks and was pushing thick smoke along the ground leading to poor visibility. Winds are beginning to diminish and will slow down later tonight, relative humidity will also rise leading to better recoveries over night. The Mill Creek fire is now 100% contained.

No evacuations or closures at this time.

Damages and Injuries

At this point, no injuries from either the public or first responders have been reported.
