Cause: Under Investigation
Texas A&M Forest Service and an engine strike continued monitoring the perimeter last night. An infrared (IR) drone flight was authorized last night to further pinpoint any remaining residual heat.
The Nelson Creek Fire will continue to be staffed today. Resources will resume mop-up operations and patrolling containment lines.
Weather:
Hot and dry conditions will continue with wind speeds around 5 mph today. Temperatures are expected to reach 100 degrees with a relative humidity of 32%. Fire resources will be monitoring the local area in support of local fire departments.
