KERNVILLE, CA, August 1, 2024 – The U.S. Forest Service and California Interagency Incident Management Team 11, in unified command with Kern County Fire Department and Kern County Sheriffs Department, is pleased to announce the reduction of selected evacuation orders previously imposed due to the Borel Fire.

FireYesterday, interior fuels consumed on the Trout fire and the Borel Fire was active, mostly on the eastern edge, in the south fork of Erskine creek. The Borel fire has not moved significantly up the eastern side of Erskine creek. Expected fire behavior on the Borel includes possible crown fire runs and spotting.Smoke
