Hill Fire Evening Update 07-16-2024
Updated On: - 07/16/2024 / 18:00
Eureka, CA., July 16, 2024—The Hill Fire is approximately 2,000 acres and is growing at a rapid rate with extreme fire behavior. The fire continues to burn in steep and remote terrain making access challenging for ground resources. Air resources including air tankers, helicopters, and air attack are on scene and performing retardant drops to try and slow the spread. The fire is growing to the north in heavy timber as fire conditions continue to be hot and dry.
