This is a good example of a mosaic burn pattern within the Miller Creek Fire area.
The Miller Peak Fire was first reported the afternoon of July 14, 2024. The fire is located about 8 miles southeast of Missoula in the Plant Creek drainage of Miller Creek. Fire crews out on the line continue work mopping up and securing the spotty eastern flank that has unburned and burned fuels. Available resources and current efforts are focused on the protection of the homes and structures in the Miller Creek drainage, the I-90 corridor, critical energy infrastructure/powerlines, and the communications towers on Miller Peak.

Fire area and road closures are in effect. Additional Cooperating and Assisting Organizations include Missoula County, Montana DNRC, Missoula City, and Rural FDs. |
| Weather Concerns | Mild and relatively dry with increasing chance for showers and thunderstorms into the week. Winds will be terrain-based. There is a 50 percent chance for a wetting rain and a 20 percent chance for gusty winds exceeding 30 mph on Tuesday. Also minimum humidity could be the highest on Tuesday ranging between 38 and 42 percent. |
